Ariel Dong (b. 2000) is a painter and sculptor currently based in Singapore. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI (2024).

Ariel’s paintings explore a diversity of visual languages, weaving her interests in colour theory, material affect, and the intersection between painting and object-making. Through her works she grapples with both the personal and the ecological, the question of what it means to be human in today’s landscape. Central to her work is an attempt at a crossing between dichotomies - between “nature” and “culture”, and a desire for the rewilding of the soul. Her works are deeply influenced by environmental philosophy, linguistics, indigenous knowledge, myths, speculative fiction, the ancient, the intimate, and the uncanny.
